About Tammy Willey

"I see what others haven't fully
put into words yet."

Tammy Willey  ·  Founder, MavenWorks LLC

I don't want to tell you how to run your business. I want to help you run it better.

Early on, a business owner told me flat out: the moment I said "consultant," the answer would be no. He didn't want anyone coming in to take over. I understood completely — because that's never been my approach.

My role has always been an enabling one. I come in to make your work easier, clearer, and more sustainable. My coworkers used to say I had a rare ability to stay calm under pressure, see the big picture while holding all the details, and recognize the potential in others before they saw it themselves. That's what I bring into every engagement.

Where decisions get stuck. Where work duplicates. Where knowledge disappears. I help turn those patterns into structure that actually works.

That instinct was shaped over 24 years at Jacobs — one of the world's largest engineering and construction firms — working across 15 markets, 4 global regions, and 60,000 employees. I designed systems, structured knowledge, and connected teams across some of the most complex operations in the world.

Today I bring that same experience to small businesses. Not to come in with a predetermined answer — but to listen, ask the right questions, and build something that holds long after I'm gone. I'm also deeply invested in what AI-enabled operations can do for small businesses — not as a replacement for good process, but as a way to make good process work even harder.

Tammy Willey, small business operations consultant, Maine

I've seen what happens when operations aren't working the way they could.

Owners burn out. Teams get frustrated. Good people leave.

And I've seen what changes when things start to come together.

When operations are defined, systems start working together, and knowledge is captured and shared—work becomes easier. Teams gain confidence. Owners get their time back.

That shift—from chaos to calm, from stuck to moving forward—is what drives me.

Before

Work is reactive. Decisions stall. The same problems surface again and again.

The work

We define what's broken, build structure around it, and make sure changes hold.

After

Teams work with confidence. Owners have visibility. The business runs without everything depending on one person.

Calm, methodical, and built to last.

I listen more than I talk. I ask questions that help you see your business differently. And everything I build is designed to stay in place—not fall apart the moment I leave.

01

Understand

I listen and observe. I ask questions about how your business actually works—where decisions get stuck, where you feel the most friction, and what you've already tried.

02

Design

Together, we create a clear operational structure built around your business. This includes workflows, decision frameworks, and how your team works day-to-day.

03

Support

I help you implement changes, prepare your team, and ensure new systems actually stick. This is where most improvements fall apart. I make sure yours hold.

I don't fix isolated problems.
I see how everything connects.

When I work with you, I'm looking at your full operational picture—not just the symptom in front of us.

Operations

How work flows day-to-day—and where it breaks down.

Systems

Whether your tools talk to each other—or create more friction than they solve.

Knowledge

What lives in people's heads versus what the whole team can access and rely on.

People

How your team works together—and where structure can give them more confidence.

It's never just one thing. Workflows, decision-making, how information flows, what gets documented, how your team works day-to-day — it all connects. That's the full operational ecosystem I'm looking at when we work together.

Guided by empathy.
Fueled by curiosity.

I'm a mom to a five-year-old who arrived as a complete surprise and remains the best thing that ever happened to me. Outside of client work, you'll find me trying a new restaurant, working through a puzzle, learning something I didn't know yesterday, or wrangling two dogs and a cat who have strong opinions about the workday schedule.

I'm genuinely excited about where AI is headed—not as a buzzword, but as a real tool for helping small businesses run smarter. And at the heart of everything I do is a deep love of sharing knowledge. If I've figured something out that could help you, I want you to have it.

I lead with empathy and stay calm under pressure. I build relationships that last beyond the engagement. And somewhere between the systems and the structure, there's a warmth to this work that I think you'll feel from the very first conversation.

Let's take a closer look.
